The required documents and fees for the renewal or reissuance of Machine Readable Passports are as follows:

For labours/workers

1.  Filled-in application form. [click here to download]
2.  Photocopy of the current Machine Readable Passport. [original passport will be checked at the counter during submission of application]
3.  Smart card (or CPR) details page (for profession) OR a Salary Certificate which indicates a salary under 250 BHD
4.  Non-refundable fees to be paid: 13 BHD + 4 BHD (agent fee, if applicable) per application

Professions typically found under this category are: Labour, Worker, Mason, Plumber, Fishermen, Driver, Housemaid, Houseboy and Cleaner.
For any other professions under the "labour/worker" category, a salary certificate indicating a salary of 250 BHD has to be issued, signed (by sponsor/company) and submitted.

For spouse (wife) and children of labours/workers

1.  Filled-in application form. [click here to download]
2.  Photocopy of the current Machine Readable Passport. [original passport will be checked at the counter during submission of application]
3.  Husband's (or father's) smart card (or CPR) details page (for profession) OR a Salary Certificate which indicates a salary under 250 BHD
4.  Non-refundable fees to be paid: 13 BHD + 4 BHD (agent fee, if applicable) per application

For professionals (individuals with salary above 250 BHD)

4.  Non-refundable fees to be paid: 41.5 BHD + 4 BHD (agent fee, if applicable) per application

Professions typically found under this category are: Doctor, Engineer, Manager, Businessman, Accountant and Investor.
Any person whose salary is above 250 BHD shall be charged at professionals' rate.

For spouse (wife) and children of professionals (guardians with salary above 250 BHD)

3.  Guardian's smart card (or CPR) details page (for profession)
4.  Non-refundable fees to be paid: 41.5 BHD + 4 BHD (agent fee, if applicable) per application

Professions typically found under this category are: Doctor, Engineer, Manager, Businessman, Accountant and Investor.
Any dependent whose guardian's salary is above 250 BHD shall be charged at professionals' rate.

• You are advised to apply here if your passport is LOST, STOLEN or SEIZED (i.e. no longer in your possession).
• After filling up the form, please go to any branch that is closest to you with the fees (in cash) and all necessary documents.
• They have three branches in Jidhafs, Manama and Muharraq respectively.

➥ Embassy (Chancery Building)

• You are advised to apply at your nearest agent office (Bahrain Post or Versatilo), not the Embassy.
• You may only come directly to the Embassy if you need to update or change your photo (and signature) in your passport.
• The Embassy may directly call or send you an SMS to come on a certain day at a certain time if there is any issue with your application.
  Please note that until and unless those issue(s) is/are resolved, your application will not be sent to Dhaka (Bangladesh) for further processing.

Delivery of passport:

The average processing time at DIP takes between 30 and 45 days, but please be patient as it may take longer to receive the passport from Dhaka. Unfortunately there is not much the applicant or the Embassy can do to expedite the process, other than sending communications to the concerned passport department in Bangladesh.

The Embassy will sends an SMS to the applicant notifying the arrival of the passport from Dhaka and request its collection with the passport they are currently holding and the delivery slip. The old passport will be cancelled by an official at the Embassy and the new passport along with the old one will be handed over to the applicant.

Please note that:

➽  We do not provide "urgent" or "express" renewal or reapplication. If you urgently need to extend your MR-passport's validity, then kindly apply for its manual (handwritten) extension AFTER applying for a new passport (i.e. MRP renew or reissuance).

➽  Once your new passport arrives from Dhaka (Bangladesh), you will receive an SMS or call to collect it from the same place you applied at.
